Registered Nurse – MS/Tele
Overview
- Location: Kalamazoo, Michigan
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Start date: ASAP
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
Schedule
- Night shift, 3x12
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- No call requirements
Unit Details
- Medical-surgical telemetry unit
- 46-bed surgical unit
- Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5–6; may increase to 1:7 with call-ins
- Patient population includes trauma surgery, post-bariatric surgery, post-abdominal surgery, post-amputation surgery, urological issues, and overflow medical/cardiac patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Michigan
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 1 year of Med Surg / Telemetry experience
- Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by the American Heart Association
- BLS issued by the American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Experience with Cerner
- First-time travelers accepted
- Must live at least 50 miles from the facility
Additional Notes
- Charting system: Cerner
- Background check required within 90 days of start
- Physical exam required
- Negative 12-panel drug screen required within 30 days of start
- TB screening and immunization/documentation requirements apply
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
- Fit mask testing required within one year of start
