SICU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in New Orleans, Louisiana
- High-acuity ICU assignment
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Float to other ICUs and SDUs
- No block scheduling requests
- Manager can accommodate 3x12s or 4x12s
- Day shift: 4x12 hours, 6:45–19:15
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- SICU - Surgical Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
- SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PA catheter experience
- Balloon pump experience
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy (CRRT) experience
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Experience
- Experience with PA catheters and balloon pumps
Clinical Focus
- General post-op surgical recovery care
- CVICU-level exposure may include post-op CABG, valve replacement/repair, aortic dissection, IABP, and PA catheter care
- Transplant recovery may include liver, heart, lung, kidney, and pancreas patients
Important Assignment Conditions
- May be assigned to an emergency team during facility emergency events and may be required to remain on site until the event passes or serve on the relief team
- Must be comfortable with emergency-event assignment expectations
