Radiation Therapist
Job Overview
- Location: Salem, Oregon
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Start: ASAP
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
- Shift: Day, 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM
- Call: No call required
Required Qualifications
- Completion of a Radiation Therapy program
- Valid Radiation Therapist license in Oregon
- Radiation Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
- ARRT
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Experience with Varian TrueBeam, Edge, or Aria linear accelerators
- Experience with SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
- Experience with SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery)
- Experience with Breathhold Visual Management techniques
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with Varian TrueBeam or Edge and Aria
- Familiarity with linear accelerators, including Varian TrueBeam, Trilogy, Acuity, and GE Lightspeed CT
- Knowledge of SBRT, SRS, and breathhold visual management
Work Setting
- Fast-paced environment treating 70–95 patients per day on three treatment machines
Key Responsibilities
- Simulate and administer radiation treatments as prescribed
- Interpret treatment prescriptions and plans
- Position and image patients for treatment
- Monitor patients during treatment and report side effects or unusual reactions
- Document treatment position, tattoos, and field borders
- Perform emergency treatment calculations
- Fabricate immobilization devices and custom blocks
- Participate in daily chart rounds and weekly chart/check and cleaning tasks
- Coordinate simulation to support continuity of care
