Radiation Therapist

Job Overview

  • Location: Salem, Oregon
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Start: ASAP
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week
  • Shift: Day, 6:00 AM to 7:30 PM
  • Call: No call required

Required Qualifications

  • Completion of a Radiation Therapy program
  • Valid Radiation Therapist license in Oregon
  • Radiation Therapist (1 year of experience)
  • Radiation Therapist experience within the last year
  • ARRT
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • Experience with Varian TrueBeam, Edge, or Aria linear accelerators
  • Experience with SBRT (Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy)
  • Experience with SRS (Stereotactic Radiosurgery)
  • Experience with Breathhold Visual Management techniques
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience with Varian TrueBeam or Edge and Aria
  • Familiarity with linear accelerators, including Varian TrueBeam, Trilogy, Acuity, and GE Lightspeed CT
  • Knowledge of SBRT, SRS, and breathhold visual management

Work Setting

  • Fast-paced environment treating 70–95 patients per day on three treatment machines

Key Responsibilities

  • Simulate and administer radiation treatments as prescribed
  • Interpret treatment prescriptions and plans
  • Position and image patients for treatment
  • Monitor patients during treatment and report side effects or unusual reactions
  • Document treatment position, tattoos, and field borders
  • Perform emergency treatment calculations
  • Fabricate immobilization devices and custom blocks
  • Participate in daily chart rounds and weekly chart/check and cleaning tasks
  • Coordinate simulation to support continuity of care

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
