Description

Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Registered Nurse

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Portland, Oregon
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift, 3x12 schedule
  • Weekend coverage required
  • First-time travelers accepted with PICU experience
  • Locals accepted
  • Pending Oregon license accepted if the application has been submitted and received by the licensing board
  • Floating required within the hospital to NICU and pediatric units
  • Block scheduling not accommodated unless otherwise stated

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience)
  • PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • CVICU experience
  • Experience with Epic

Preferred

  • NRP

Schedule

  • Tuesdays start date
  • 36 hours per week

Clinical Setting

  • CVPICU
  • Must have experience with CVICU and post-op hearts
  • Bedside procedures may include central line placement, arterial line placement, lumbar puncture, intubation/extubation, CRRT initiation/discontinuation, ECMO cannulation/decannulation, and chest exploration

Additional Notes

  • All time-off requests must be disclosed at submission
  • Call is not required
  • Scrubs are provided for OR use
  • Government-issued photo ID is required on the first day
  • A valid TB questionnaire is required
  • Fit testing is required before start
  • Two manager or supervisor references from the last 24 months are required
  • A skills checklist is required within 1 year of start

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
