Mammography Tech

Job Overview

  • Location: New Haven, Connecticut
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Start date: ASAP
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM and 12:00 PM–8:30 PM as needed; every other Saturday, 7:30 AM–4:00 PM
  • Floating: May float between 4 sites
  • Weekend requirement: Yes
  • First-timers accepted: No
  • Guaranteed hours: Yes
  • Cross-training preference: Breast sonographer cross-training preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Mammography Technologist license in Connecticut
  • Mammography Technologist (4 years of experience)
  • Mammography Technologist experience within the last year
  • One completed travel assignment
  • ARRT (M)
  • ARRT (R)
  • Experience with Hologic equipment

Schedule Notes

  • Schedule is posted one week in advance
  • If scheduled on Saturday, a weekday off is provided

Compliance / Onboarding

  • Photo ID matching legal name required on first day
  • 7-year criminal background check required
  • Education verification required
  • Highest level of education must be verified
  • Official transcript may be requested if education verification cannot be completed
  • 7-year work history required with no gaps greater than 90 days
  • References required within 3 years of start
  • Skills checklist required within 12 months of start
  • Physical exam required within 12 months of start
  • Fit test required within 12 months of start and updated annually
  • 10-panel drug screen required within 12 months of start
  • TB questionnaire required annually
  • Negative TB documentation required
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption required during flu season
  • COVID vaccination is preferred if received
  • Attestation of prior radiation exposure required

Additional Notes

  • RTO greater than 7 days requires approval
  • Will float as needed
  • Parking is available for a monthly fee

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
