CVICU Registered Nurse
Job Overview
- Travel/contract role in Allentown, Pennsylvania
- 13-week assignment
- Day shift, 3x12 hours
- 36 hours per week
- Adult patient population
- Floating required
- No on-call requirement
- Weekend requirement: every other
- Holiday requirement: every other
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Pennsylvania
- CVICU (2 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Experience
- Critical Care Float Pool experience
Clinical Setting
- Patient ratio ranges from 1:1 to 3:1
- Experience with a Teaching Hospital and Trauma Level I Facility
Documentation and Screening
- Background check required within 30 days of start
- Fingerprinting required within 90 days of start
- Education verification required
- State-specific search required within 30 days of start
- Child abuse search required within 90 days of start
- Department of Human Services fingerprint results required within 90 days of start
- PATCH search results required within 90 days of start
- Medicheck search results required within 30 days of start
- EPLS/GSA/SAM required upon hire
- HHS/OIG required upon hire
- Minimum of 2 professional references required
- Employment application required with 7 years of work history and explanations for gaps over 90 days
Certifications and Competencies
- ACLS
- BLS
- NIH Stroke Certification
- National certification/verification as applicable by profession and state
- Orientation safety manual acknowledgement
- Pass/fail testing acknowledgement
- State license verification
- Nursys verification
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam
- Competency exam where applicable
Health Requirements
- Physical exam within 2 months of start
- Fit mask testing
- Tdap within 10 years of start
- Negative TB test or chest x-ray
- TB questionnaire if applicable
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation
- Drug screen within 60 days of start
- Hepatitis C titer required for certain specialties only
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption
- COVID vaccination or declination
- Respirator safety clearance
