Respiratory Therapist

Assignment Overview

• 13-week travel assignment
• Night shift, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• 36 hours per week
• Every other weekend required
• May float to Meridian Medical Center and Nampa Medical Center
• First-time travelers are accepted

Required Qualifications

• Respiratory Therapist credential: RRT preferred; CRT accepted with 3-5 years of experience
• 2-3 years of experience required if RRT
• 3-5 years of experience required if CRT
• BLS required
• ACLS required for adult care
• PALS required for pediatric care
• NRP required for NICU care
• Must know NAVA on Cervo vents if assigned to NICU

Clinical Scope

• Inpatient respiratory therapy
• Adult, pediatric, and Level III NICU coverage
• RTs on pediatric floors also cover adults
• RTs on adult floors do not cover pediatrics
• Manages RT equipment, treatments, transport, and ABGs
• Does not perform EKGs
• Travelers assist with intubation only

Scheduling and Work Conditions

• Schedule is arranged by the scheduler based on need
• Blocks may be accommodated but are not guaranteed
• Overtime may be available
• Holiday work is required if the assignment falls during a holiday
• No call or standby call required
• Typically 2-3 shifts of unit orientation, with additional orientation for adult ICU if applicable

• Clean, professional attire in any color
• Facility radius rule: candidates must live outside 50 miles from the facility
