IMC RN Travel Contract
Role Overview
- Specialty: Registered Nurse
- Setting: Intermediate care / stepdown / PCU
- Schedule: 3x12 day shifts, 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
- Contract length: 13 weeks

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Interpretation of dysrhythmias
- Management of dysrhythmias
- Use of Rapid Response Teams
- Post Cardiac Angiogram care
- Post MI care
- Pre/Post Cardiac Catheterization care
- Pre/Post Cardiac Surgery care
- Sheath Removal
- TR Band management
- Feeding tube care and management
Preferred Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- Cerner experience
- Teaching hospital experience
- Level I trauma experience
Clinical Experience Needed
- Telemetry, neuro stepdown, PCU/DOU/IMC/stepdown experience
- Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills, including dysrhythmia interpretation and management, telemetry monitoring, and rapid response support
- Cardiovascular experience including post-cardiac angiogram, post-MI, pre/post cardiac cath, pre/post cardiac surgery, sheath removal, and TR band
- Gastrointestinal experience with feeding tube care and management
- Genitourinary/renal experience with pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure
- IV therapy/phlebotomy experience including ports, arterial lines, blood products, central lines, phlebotomy, peripheral lines, PICC lines, and starting IVs
- Medication management experience with heparin protocols, cardiac drips, vasoactive drips, PCA, and procedural sedation administration
- Neurological/psychiatric experience with craniotomy, CVA, pre/post neurosurgery, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury
- Orthopedic experience with ortho trauma, peripheral nerve block catheters, and total joint replacements
- Plastic surgery experience with skin grafts and surgical drains
- Respiratory experience with ventilated patients, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula, ABG interpretation, nasal cannula, oxygen masks, portable oxygen, non-invasive airway management, and tracheostomy management
- Isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac experience
Work Expectations
- Will float as needed
- No on-call requirement
- Locals accepted with no radius restriction
- Block scheduling may be discussed with the manager
- Ideally no more than 5 days of requested time off
