Description

ICU Travel Nurse

Overview

  • Location: Jersey City, New Jersey
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day, 3x12 hours
  • Weekly hours: 36
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Patient ratio: 1:1–3 in critical care; 1:4–6+ if floated
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted
  • No block scheduling
  • Every other weekend required

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in New Jersey
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit (1.5 years of experience)
  • ICU - Intensive Care Unit experience within the last year
  • ACLS issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association
  • NIHSS
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Experience in an Acute Care setting
  • Strong EKG skillset
  • Pulmonary Artery Line/Swan Ganz monitoring
  • TAVI/TAVR experience
  • Insulin protocols
  • CVVHD/CRRT experience
  • Strong IV skillset
  • Lumbar drain management
  • Post neuro surgery care
  • EVD (external ventricular drain) management

Preferred Qualifications

  • IABP
  • Impella
  • LVAD

Clinical Notes

  • Patient mix includes acute renal failure, GI surgery, CVAs, TBIs, and ventilated patients
  • Additional float units may be assigned based on skill set and hospital needs
  • Navy blue scrubs required

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
