Interventional Radiology
Job Overview
- Location: Charleston, South Carolina
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
- Hours: 40 per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Setting: Teaching hospital
- Trauma level: Level 1 trauma
Schedule and Assignment Details
- Four 10-hour shifts with a rotating day off
- Occasional week of 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- On-call required: 1 weeknight every other week, 1–2 weekends during the contract, and 1 possible holiday
- No weekend requirement
- No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
- Daily caseload per tech: 5–8
- First-time travelers accepted
- Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within 60 miles
Required Qualifications
- Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
- Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
- 1 year of experience
- ARRT (R)
- SCQRSA
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Vascular Access experience
- Embolization experience
- Dialysis work experience
- PE Thrombectomy experience

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements
- 2 clinical references
- Complete application/resume with PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
- Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
- Education verification required
- Annual work history verification for the last 3 clinical employers
- South Carolina state exclusion list clearance
- Fit testing before start and annually
- 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
- Physical exam updated annually
- Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
- TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
- Annual TB questionnaire
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation
- COVID vaccination documentation or declination
- Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
- Badge photo required before start
- Orientation modules must be completed before orientation
- Prior radiation exposure attestation required if the unit requires a radiation badge
Additional Notes
- Scrubs provided: navy
- Parking is paid for nights and weekends, with a one-time $20 parking pass fee
- Hurricane season assignments may include emergency response duties
