Interventional Radiology

Job Overview

  • Location: Charleston, South Carolina
  • Employment type: Travel/Contract
  • Shift: Day, 4x10 hours, 7:30 AM–6:00 PM
  • Hours: 40 per week
  • Contract length: 13 weeks
  • Setting: Teaching hospital
  • Trauma level: Level 1 trauma

Schedule and Assignment Details

  • Four 10-hour shifts with a rotating day off
  • Occasional week of 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
  • On-call required: 1 weeknight every other week, 1–2 weekends during the contract, and 1 possible holiday
  • No weekend requirement
  • No floating between service lines or to sister facilities
  • Daily caseload per tech: 5–8
  • First-time travelers accepted
  • Local candidates accepted on a case-by-case basis within 60 miles

Required Qualifications

  • Valid Interventional Radiology Technologist license in South Carolina
  • Interventional Radiology Technologist experience within the last year
  • 1 year of experience
  • ARRT (R)
  • SCQRSA
  • BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • Vascular Access experience
  • Embolization experience
  • Dialysis work experience
  • PE Thrombectomy experience

Preferred Experience

  • Vascular access

Compliance and Pre-Start Requirements

  • 2 clinical references
  • Complete application/resume with PTO, contract assignments, agency names, and no unaccounted gaps
  • Annual background check covering all locations lived/worked in the past 7 years
  • Education verification required
  • Annual work history verification for the last 3 clinical employers
  • South Carolina state exclusion list clearance
  • Fit testing before start and annually
  • 10-panel drug screen within 90 days of start
  • Physical exam updated annually
  • Tdap within 10 years of start or declination
  • TB test or chest X-ray within 90 days of start
  • Annual TB questionnaire
  • Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, and hepatitis B immunity or vaccination documentation
  • COVID vaccination documentation or declination
  • Flu vaccination or approved exemption during flu season
  • Badge photo required before start
  • Orientation modules must be completed before orientation
  • Prior radiation exposure attestation required if the unit requires a radiation badge

Additional Notes

  • Scrubs provided: navy
  • Parking is paid for nights and weekends, with a one-time $20 parking pass fee
  • Hurricane season assignments may include emergency response duties

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
