Description
Registered Nurse (RN) - ICU (6 Month Long-Term Assignment)
Location: Des Moines, Iowa
Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM (Night Shift)
Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Job Description
- Provide critical care nursing in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).
- Assignment requested to cover winter holiday period.
- Work every other weekend (EOW) and every other holiday (EOH).
Required Qualifications
Licensure
- Valid RN license in Iowa.
Experience
- Minimum of 1 year of ICU (Intensive Care Unit) experience within the last year.
Education
- Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN).
Certifications
- BLS (Basic Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) issued by the American Heart Association.
- NIHSS (National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale) certification.
Health and Safety Requirements
- Fit test for respiratory protection.
- Trinity 10 Panel Drug Screen completed within 30 days of start (includes specific substances; no THC).
- COVID-19 vaccination proof (including booster by Sept 2025), or approved declination/exemption (declination not accepted in CA or IL).
- MMR: Proof of two vaccinations or immunity titer.
- Hepatitis B: At least first vaccination in series completed prior to start.
- Influenza vaccine proof or declination (optional).
- 2-Step PPD or IGRA (Quantiferon/Tspot) for TB screening.
- Varicella: Proof of vaccination or immunity titer.
- Physical/Health statement confirming fitness to work within the last year.
- Current Tdap vaccine or declination if no pediatric interaction.
Professional and Compliance Requirements
- Criminal background check (federal, nationwide, county) within last 7 years, dated within 30 days of start.
- Social Security Number verification.
- Education verification of highest academic degree or diploma.
- EPLS (Excluded Parties List System) check within 30 days.
- OIG (Office of Inspector General) exclusion check within 30 days.
- NSO (National Sex Offender) check within 30 days.
- Iowa-specific Child and Adult Dependent Abuse Training and registry checks.
- Conflict of Interest Disclosure form.
- Code of Conduct form.
- Confidentiality and Information System Security Agreement.
- Integrity and Audit Services form.
- Non-Employee Upload Form (specific pages required).
- System Access Form completed and uploaded one week before start.
- Joint Commission CORE exam within the past year.
- Skills checklist provided by agency for clinical contractors.
Additional Notes
- Resume, skills checklist (within one year), and two professional references required for submission.
- All required documents and verifications must be uploaded to the credentialing system prior to onboarding.
- Specialty competency exam and certifications must be current and verifiable.
