Overview

Unit Details
- High-acuity ICU
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- Float requirement to other ICUs and SDUs
- Manager can accommodate 3x12s or 4x12s
- No block scheduling requests
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Critical Care Float experience with 2 years of experience
- Critical Care Float experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Experience with Epic
- Experience with PA catheters
- Experience with balloon pumps
- Experience with Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy
- SICU - Surgical Intensive Care experience
- CVICU experience
- Transplant experience
Preferred Experience
- Experience with pulmonary artery catheters and balloon pumps
Relevant Clinical Experience
- Post-op CABG
- Valve replacement/repair
- Aortic dissection
- IABP
- PA catheter care
- General post-op surgical recovery
- Transplant recovery: liver, heart, lungs, kidney, pancreas
- Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy
Assignment Expectations
- May be assigned to an emergency team during an emergency event and may need to remain at the facility until the event passes or serve on the relief team
- Must be comfortable reporting as assigned by the unit manager during emergency events
Compliance / Pre-Start Items
- Current valid government photo ID

- EPLS/GSA/SAM check
- HHS/OIG check
- Sex offender search
- NURSYS verification
- Physical exam
- Fit mask testing
- Negative TB test or chest X-ray
- Tdap
