Job Overview
- Location: Martinsburg, West Virginia
- Schedule: 8-hour shifts, primarily day/evening
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Hours: 40 per week
Required Qualifications
- Active RN role
- 2–3 years of specialty experience
- Ortho experience
- Experience passing the arms in and out for robotics
- BLS and ACLS
- Epic familiarity
Preferred Qualifications
- PALS
Schedule Details
- Shift options include 8s, 10s, and 12s
- No self-scheduling for travelers
- Block scheduling may be allowed if it meets unit needs
- Weeknight call: one 7 p.m.–7 a.m. call shift per week, rotation varies
- Weekday call: one weekday call shift every 2 weeks, Monday–Thursday
- Weekend call: one 24-hour on-call shift per month
- Holiday call: as needed
- Call response time: 30 minutes
Clinical Setting
- Operating room with 9 ORs, 1 procedure room, and 1 hybrid room
- Average volume: 35–45 cases per day
- Common cases include general surgery, ENT, eyes, orthopedics, robotics, neuro spine, trauma, vascular, pediatrics, and emergent cases
- Does not cover CVOR or labor and delivery, except C-sections
Responsibilities
- Circulate cases if needed
- Float to outpatient surgery
- Scrubbing is a plus but not required
Additional Notes
- Must be comfortable working as the only RN overnight with 2 techs
- Must have experience with all specialties for evening/night shift
- Unit orientation: 3 shifts over 1 week
- Scrubs are provided
- Drivers license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
- Can only submit to 1 position at a time across the WVU system
- Previous perm candidates must be gone for 2 years
- Previous travelers who completed 1 full year there must be gone for 2 years
- Background hits must be disclosed at submission
- Travel teams must be submitted together in 1 email
- Up to 2 candidates per opening may be submitted
