PICU RN Travel Contract
Overview

Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Alaska.
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2 years of experience).
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year.
- NICU - Neonatal Intensive Care experience.
- Pediatrics experience.
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
- PALS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Schedule and Assignment Details
- Weekend requirement: every other weekend.
- Floating may be required within scope to NICU and Pediatrics.
- First-time travelers are accepted.
- Block scheduling is available.
- On-call is not required.
- Local candidates are not accepted within 100 miles.
Unit Notes
- PICU-trained nurses may be assigned PICU patients with an orientee.
- Typical ratios: Pediatrics 1:4, PICU 1:2, ventilated patients usually 1:1.
Compliance and Pre-Start Items
- Pre-start tasks and onboarding forms must be completed before the deadline set by the facility.
- Required health and screening items include: physical exam, fit test, TB screening, Tdap, measles, mumps, rubella, hepatitis B, varicella, drug screen, COVID vaccination or approved medical exemption, flu vaccination or approved medical exemption when in season, and references/skills checklist.
- Background check and fingerprint-related requirements apply as part of onboarding.
