Required Qualifications
- Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU (1.5 years of experience)
- Certified Respiratory Therapy - NICU experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- Experience working with Neonate or Pediatric patients
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- EPIC experience preferred
Work Setting
- NICU
- PICU
- Emergency department
- Pediatric and adult acute/intermediate care wards
Role Responsibilities
- Provide bedside respiratory care modalities per provider orders and departmental guidelines
- Perform therapeutic interventions such as airway management, therapeutic gases, ventilator management, newborn resuscitation, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Perform diagnostic procedures including arterial blood sampling, bedside spirometry, spontaneous ventilatory parameters, and point-of-care testing
- Support teamwork, train new respiratory therapists and other healthcare team members, and maintain competency with equipment and modalities
- Chart and charge for services provided per policy
