Unit Overview
- Dedicated Stroke Unit
- 30 beds
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:4
- Common patient populations include medical, DKA, cardiac, GI, renal, sepsis, trauma, and surgery
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- Stepdown (2 years of experience)
- Stepdown experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- NIHSS
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Driver's License
- Stroke experience
Required Onboarding / Compliance
- Pharmacology exam with minimum score of 80%
- Medical Surgical exam with minimum score of 80%
- EKG exam with minimum score of 80%
- Core competencies exam with minimum score of 80% or national benchmark passing score
- Education attestation from pre-hire onboarding
- Nursing contract worker onboarding completed onsite
- Badge photo
- COVID-19 vaccination documentation
- MMR documentation
- Fit test
- Hepatitis B documentation
- Influenza vaccine documentation or exemption/declination with masking requirement
- TB screening documentation
- Health statement or completed physical exam
- Driver’s license or state ID
- Varicella documentation
- Tdap documentation
- 12-panel drug screen
- Education verification
- Employment verification for the past seven years
- Criminal background check results
- EPLS check
- OFAC check
- At least two professional references
Optional / Conditional
- Influenza vaccine exemption/declination accepted, with masking required
- Unit-specific checklist is optional for onboarding but must be uploaded by the unit leader within a week
- Name change document if applicable
