CVICU Registered Nurse
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Bloomington, Indiana
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
- 36 hours per week
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Mixed acuity CVICU setting with patients ranging from ICU to some PCU ratios
- First-time travelers accepted
- Floating within scope is required
- Local candidates are not accepted
- Pending license is not accepted
- Must work 2 of 3 major holidays
- Every other weekend required
- On-call not required
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Indiana
- CVICU (1.5 years of experience)
- CVICU experience within the last year
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- NIH Stroke Certification
- Previous charge experience
- Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump
- Experience with pre/post cardiac cath or intervention
- Experience with sheath removal
- Experience with ventricular assist devices
- Experience caring for ventilated patients and ventilator management
Unit Details
- Cardiovascular ICU with a large cardiac surgery and thoracic surgery population
- Common procedures include CABG, TAVR, SAVR, MVR, and VATS
- Also cares for cardiovascular and oncology patients with flexible acuity
- Responsibilities include dysrhythmia interpretation and management, post-cardiac surgery care, arterial line management, blood product administration, central line and PICC line management, and titration of cardiac and vasoactive drips
- Telemetry available
- Private rooms with overhead lifts
