Long-Term Care Registered Nurse Supervisor

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Vestal, New York
• Evening shift, 5x8 hours
• 40 hours per week
• Start dates are every 2 weeks due to orientation scheduling
• Local candidates accepted
• First-time travelers accepted

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in New York
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 1 year of Long Term Care experience
• Long Term Care experience within the last year
• Experience in Supervisor roles
• BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross or American Safety and Health Institute or National CPR Foundation
• Must be able to pass a medication administration test and clinical observation
• Must provide proof of license at submission
• Strong attendance and punctuality required

Schedule Expectations

• Cannot change shift once offered
• Cannot add requested time off once offered
• Every other weekend required upon center request
• Cannot take every holiday off
• Call-outs must be given with more than 24 hours’ notice

Role Responsibilities

• Supervise CNAs on assigned units
• Administer medications and treatments
• Perform medication passes accurately and safely
• Monitor and report changes in resident condition
• Complete timely and accurate documentation
• Provide nursing care according to facility policies

Facility Setting

• Long-term care, skilled nursing, rehab, and memory care environment
• Resident population includes Alzheimer’s and dementia care
• 300-bed facility
• Typical ratio: 1:18–20

Compliance and Onboarding

• Compliance takes 1.5–2 weeks
• Physical exam required within 1 year of start
• Negative TB test or chest X-ray required within 1 year of start
• Measles, mumps, and rubella immunity documentation required
• Flu vaccination or declination required year-round
• COVID vaccination or declination required
• Pneumonia vaccination proof or declination required
• 2 references required within 2 years of start
• Resume/application required
• New York NYSIIS consent form required
• Relias modules must be completed before start
• Medication administration exam requires a passing score of 90% for nurses

• Med-cart work is part of the role
• Free parking is available
• Scrubs may be any solid color with closed-toe shoes
