- Nights, 7:00 PM–7:00 AM
- Weekend shifts required

Unit Overview
Cares for deliveries, circulating C-sections, antepartum patients, and newborn initial assessments.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Louisiana
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience
- BLS
- ACLS
- NRP
- AWHONN Intermediate FHM Instructor or AWHONN Instructor Trainer or NCC Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM)
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing
- Perinatal RN Residency or recent experience in a perinatal setting
Orientation and Onboarding
- New hires must attend New Nurses Orientation within the first 30 days
- Completion of organizational entry competency validation and Perinatal Services-specific competency validation is required
- Annual competency verification is required
Patient Ratios
- 1:1 on Pitocin for induction or augmentation
- 1:2 cervical ripening
- 1:2–3 antepartum
- 1:2–3 triage
- 1:1 immediate postpartum for 2 hours after birth
