Home Health RN

Overview

Travel/contract registered nurse role in home health
Day shift: 5x8 hours, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Contract length: 13 weeks
Local candidates accepted

Responsibilities

Provide and coordinate home nursing care based on physician orders, agency policies, and the nursing process
Supervise and evaluate home health aides and licensed practical/vocational nurses
Typical caseload: 5–8 patients per day
Territory includes home visits and periodic office meetings
Must be willing to travel up to 75 miles from the home clinic

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in New York
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Home Health (1 year of experience)
Home Health experience within the last year
Hospice experience
One completed travel assignment
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Driver's License
Experience with Homecare Homebase
Experience with OASIS

Schedule

Standard schedule is Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Weekend rotation varies by location; one Saturday per month may be required
On-call varies by location and profession

Charting

Must be proficient with HomeCare HomeBase within the last 6 months
OASIS proficiency is required for RNs

Additional Notes

Scrubs required
Mileage is reimbursed at the IRS standard rate
No guaranteed hours

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
