Required qualifications
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in Virginia
- Cath Lab Technologist (1 year of experience)
- Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- CCI
- Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
- Dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Experience in diagnostic and interventional cath lab settings using fluoroscopy
- Experience with Epic
Clinical experience and skills
- Skilled in cardiac cath lab procedures, including LHC, RHC, PCI, PTCA, stent placement, atherectomy, temporary pacer, Impella, IABP, TAVR, Watchman, and Mitraclip
- Experience with sterile technique, EKG lead placement, dysrhythmia recognition and interpretation, hemodynamic monitoring, and rapid response protocols
- Experience in diagnostic/interventional cath lab settings using fluoro
- Knowledge of isolation precautions, equipment handling, and supply management
Scheduling and call
- 7 on-call shifts and 5 late shifts are expected every 6-week period
- One full weekend of call must be scheduled together; remaining weekday call shifts may be taken individually
- One Saturday shift for elective cases is required each 6-week period
- Must be available to work or take call one holiday per 13-week contract
- Facility may call off 1 shift per 2 weeks
Charting
- Epic required
Unit overview
- Adult cath lab with 6 procedure rooms and a daily census of 15–20
- Common cases include coronary artery disease, valve disorders, heart failure, and atrial septal defect/patent foramen ovale closures
- Advanced procedures include TAVR, left atrial appendage closures, Cardiomems, thrombectomy, mitral clips, renal denervation, and research protocols
Compliance and onboarding
- Driver’s license or state ID required within 48 hours of signing
- E-Verify or attestation required
- 2 clinical references required
- Complete application/resume required
- Skills checklist required
- Background check, education verification, and other standard onboarding documents are required
- Physical exam, fit mask testing, TB screening, immunization documentation, and drug screening are required
- Photo for badge required
- New hire paperwork and orientation acknowledgment are required before start
