Labor and Delivery RN
Overview
- Travel/contract role in Issaquah, Washington
- 26-week contract
- Day shift: 4x12 hours, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
- First-time travelers are accepted
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- FHM
- AWHONN Intermediate
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience with Epic
Preferred
- ACLS
Schedule and Holidays
- May request up to 2 major holidays off
- Required to work 1 of 3 holidays: Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, or New Year’s Eve
Unit Details
- Labor and preterm labor patient population
- 8 labor rooms and 4 triage rooms
- Core responsibilities include circulating, OB-GYN, post-op, pre-op, scrub, low-risk antepartum, and low-risk labor and delivery
- Staffing ratio is 1:1–3
- Floating may include postpartum and possibly labor and delivery at another campus
Procedures and Equipment
- Blood and blood product administration
- Cardioversion/defibrillation
- Cooling/warming blanket
- Drains
- Epidural pumps
- PCA pumps
- Syringe pumps
- Wound vac
- Heparin, insulin, and magnesium sulfate administration
- Attends all deliveries, including high-risk deliveries
- GYN surgeries
- Couplet care
- Transition nursery
Additional Notes
- Perm candidates from other non-Swedish Providence facilities are eligible if separated for at least 3 months
- Compact license is honored for active licenses
- Epic familiarity is required
