Oncology RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Dayton, Ohio
- Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- 36 or 48 hours per week
- Contract option: 13 or 18 weeks
- Must work every other holiday
- No block schedule
Unit / Setting
- 35-bed medical and radiation oncology unit
- Mixed acuity: Med Surg and Advanced Care
- Specializes in oncology and hematology patients
- Unit sees blood products, chemotherapy, drips, PCAs, and wounds
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Ohio
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Oncology experience within the last year
- Oncology experience with 1 year of experience
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience
- Ability to float to multiple units and specialty clusters
- BLS issued by American Heart Association
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association
- Ability to read and interpret strips
- Experience with Epic
- Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting
- Current resume/application
- 2 references from within 2 years of start, with 1 from a Manager, Supervisor, or Charge RN
- Skills checklist within 1 year prior to documentation due date and updated annually
- Physical exam within 2 years of start
- Negative TB or chest X-ray
- Drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date
- Annual health questionnaire
- Candidate agreement
- NURSYS verification
- E-Verify
- Government-issued photo ID
- Background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM
- HHS/OIG
- Respiratory protection medical questionnaire
- RespSafety clearance within 1 year of start
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam within 2 years of start
- Unit-specific competency exam within 2 years prior to start
- Dysrhythmia/EKG competency exam within 1 year of start
Preferred
- Sickle cell experience
- Chemo certified
- Travel experience
- Some level 1 or 2 experience
- ONS Certification
- Navy Blue scrubs
Float / Scheduling Notes
- Traveler is first to float at discretion
- May float in and out of specialty clusters
- May be assigned to a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the floated unit
- If assigned to MVH, floating may include main campus, south campus, and north campus
- Available to work every other weekend and holiday
- Low-census cancellation policy applies
Additional Notes
- RTO must be requested with initial submittal; no RTO added after offer
- RTO approval is at manager discretion
- Submittal email must include application and current Nursys report
