Neuro ICU

Overview

• Travel/Contract role in York, Pennsylvania.
• Night shift: 3x12 hours, 18:45–07:15.
• Weekends every other weekend and holidays as needed.
• 13-week contract.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Pennsylvania.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Neuro ICU (2 years of experience).
• Neuro ICU experience within the last year.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• NIHSS.
• Experience with external ventricular drains (EVD).
• Experience with ICP monitoring.
• Experience with angiogram post-care.
• Experience with CRRT.
• Experience with carotid procedures.
• Experience with embolization procedures.
• Experience with Epic.

Preferred

• Hepatitis B vaccine series documentation, positive titers, or documentation of low-titer boosters.

Unit Details

• Neurosurgical Intensive Care Unit (NSICU) is a 10-bed ICU.
• Cares for critically ill stroke patients, non-traumatic neurosurgery and neurology patients age 18 and older, and serves as an overflow unit for medical patients.
• Post-operative neurosurgery and neuro-endovascular care includes ICP monitoring, care post IV and/or IA tPA administration, mechanical thrombectomy, AVM repair, aneurysm repair, carotid stenting procedures, craniotomy, CRRT, ventilator management, and hemodynamic monitoring.

Float Scope

• May float to other floors, including ICU and acute care.

Scheduling Notes

• Travelers are expected to work 2 of 3 major holidays, or 1 of 2 holidays if the contract spans only 2 of the listed holiday periods.
• One hardship shift may be required depending on assignment timing.
• Maximum requested time off is 7 days.
