CVPICU RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Washington, District of Columbia
- Pediatric CVICU setting
- 36 guaranteed hours per week
- Day or night 3x12 shifts
- Self-scheduled
- Every other weekend and every other holiday
- Start date: 3-4 weeks from submittal
- Ratios: 1:2
- First-timers accepted
- Locals accepted
- May float to other critical care units as needed, including NICU and PICU
- No on-call
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in District of Columbia
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- 2 years of CVPICU experience
- CVPICU experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric Cardiac patients
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- CHEMO - Chemotherapy
- Nursing pass/fail medication calculation exam at orientation
- Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
- Color blind testing
- Competency exam
- Photo for badge
- Government-issued photo ID
- Background check
- EPLS/GSA/SAM
- HHS/OIG
- Education verification
- NURSYS verification
- State license verification
- Physical exam within 30 days of start, including latex allergy information
- Fit test within 1 year of start
- Tdap within 10 years
- TB screening or chest X-ray
- TB questionnaire
- Measles, mumps, rubella, varicella, hepatitis B, COVID, and flu documentation or exemptions as applicable
- 10-panel drug screen within 30 days of start
- 2 professional references from the past 2 years

Scheduling / Time Off
- No more than 7 days of RTO
- If a full week of RTO is taken, it must be made up at the end of the contract
Facility Notes
- Magnet, teaching, and Level I Pediatric Trauma Center
- 323 inpatient beds, including 70 dedicated to Neonatal ICU
- Cerner charting
- Scrub color: any, no logos, child friendly
- Parking is offsite for day/night rotating staff; onsite parking may be available for nights only at additional cost
