Operating Room RN

Overview

• Travel/contract role in Abilene, Texas
• 13-week assignment
• Night shift: 4x10 hours, 17:00–07:00
• 36 or 40 hours available
• Friday–Sunday schedule with no call
• Start date in the next 3–4 weeks is strongly preferred

Clinical focus

• Neuro/Spine
• Ortho/trauma
• General/robotics/trauma
• Craniotomy and burr hole experience required

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Texas
• OR - Operating Room (2 years of experience)
• OR - Operating Room experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• 2 references within 3 years of start
• Resume/application
• Skills checklist

• Background check
• 7-year background check within 1 year of start, updated annually
• EPLS/GSA/SAM within 30 days of start
• HHS/OIG within 30 days of start
• Texas DADS Employability Status Check within 30 days of start

• Education verification at highest level
• NURSYS verification within 30 days of start
• Orientation Safety Manual acknowledgement
• Physical exam within 1 year of start
• Negative TB or chest X-ray within 72 hours of signing contract
• Rubeola (Measles) documentation within 72 hours of signing contract
• Mumps documentation within 72 hours of signing contract
• Rubella documentation within 72 hours of signing contract
• Hepatitis B documentation within 72 hours of signing contract
• Varicella documentation within 72 hours of signing contract
• Drug testing plan in place within 72 hours of signing contract
• Negative 10-panel drug screen with THC within 10 business days prior to start
• Tetanus/Diphtheria/Tdap within 10 years of start
• Fit mask
• Seasonal flu vaccination/documentation for 2026–27
• Color blind testing
• Competency exam
• Medication test/pharmacology competency exam
• Pass/fail testing for Telemetry RNs
• Pass/fail testing for EKG/Medication for Telemetry nurses
• Acknowledgement of PassFail Testing for Telemetry RNs
• Copy of transcript or diploma/degree may be used in lieu of education verification if needed

Additional details

• Friday–Sunday, no call
• 40-hour option: Friday 17:00–07:00, Saturday 19:00–07:00, Sunday 19:00–09:00
• Alternative option: 3x12 weekend PM with Monday 17:00–21:00
• Parking is available for orientation and employment parking after orientation
• Orientation modules take about 3–4 hours
