Description
Occupational Therapist (OT)
Location: Haverhill, Massachusetts
Setting: Long Term Care (LTC)
Shift: Days
Employment Type: Temp
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Role Summary
Occupational Therapist duties include screening and evaluating patients with cognitive and/or ADL physical functioning disorders, developing plans of care, providing rehabilitative treatment, documenting care, and supporting discharge planning.
Required Qualifications
- Valid Occupational Therapist license in Massachusetts
- Occupational Therapist (1 year of experience)
- Occupational Therapist experience within the last year
- Experience in a Long Term Care or Rehabilitation setting
Responsibilities
- Use standardized assessments and evidence-based practice
- Provide treatment interventions such as ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, therapeutic exercises, modalities, and supportive/assistive devices
- Assess progress and adjust treatment plans
- Provide consultation and counseling to patients, families, caregivers, and other service providers
- Communicate with supervisor and other health team members about patient progress, barriers, and treatment plans
- Complete discharge summaries
- Document required information in the electronic documentation system
- Record treatment minutes accurately
- Participate in required meetings, trainings, in-services, and conferences
- Obtain necessary DME or supplies
- Supervise and support occupational therapist assistants, rehabilitation aides, and/or students
Practice Expectations
- Follow NBCOT/AOTA and state-required practice acts, code of conduct, and ethics
