Description

ICU RN

Overview

  • Travel/contract role in Springfield, Oregon
  • Night shift: 3x12, 19:00–07:00
  • 36 hours per week
  • Start date: ASAP, with orientations held bi-weekly on Mondays
  • Guaranteed hours: 36 per week
  • First-timers not accepted
  • Locals not accepted
  • Pending license accepted
  • On-call not required
  • Flexible scheduling expected based on unit needs

Unit and float scope

  • Travelers float between CVICU and NTICU
  • Also floats to Telemetry, Acute Care (neurology, Surgical, Ortho/Med) Obs, and ED boarding
  • Float orientation is 4 hours
  • Unit is a busy ICU with medical, cardiac, neuro, and trauma patient populations

Required qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Oregon
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • CVICU experience within the last year
  • 2 years of CVICU experience
  • 2 or more completed travel assignments
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
  • NIHSS
  • Experience with Epic
  • Experience with dysrhythmia interpretation and management
  • Experience with multi-system organ failure management
  • Experience with thermoregulation including hypothermia and hyperthermia
  • Experience with pre- and post-cardiac catheterization/intervention care
  • Experience with IV insulin protocols
  • Experience with chronic and acute renal failure management
  • Experience with arterial lines
  • Experience with blood product administration
  • Experience with central line management
  • Experience with PICC line management

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
