Telemetry RN
Overview
- 13-week contract
- Martinsburg, West Virginia
- 12-hour night shifts, 7p-7:30a
- 36 hours per week
- Every other weekend required
- Rotating holidays
Required Qualifications
- RN license
- BLS (AHA)
- ACLS (AHA)
- NIHSS
- 5 years as an RN
- At least 1 year of travel experience
- Driver’s license required with submission
- Driver’s license address must be outside 50 miles from the facility
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent with EPIC
Unit Details
- Telemetry / 2 South
- 20 beds, all private rooms
- Nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:5 for telemetry patients; 1:3-4 for stepdown patients
- Common patient types include telemetry, post-catheterization, medical/surgical with telemetry monitoring needs, and respiratory difficulty
Responsibilities and Work Setting
- Nurses place IVs
- Nurses may draw labs from central lines with an order
- Nurses should be comfortable with basic dysrhythmia and verifying tele strip interpretation
- RT is available in the building 24/7
- No ventilators are on the unit
- Floating may occur to telemetry, med/surg, the emergency department for boarded patients, or floor/tele patients housed in the ICU
Scheduling and Orientation
- No on-call
- Travelers may self-schedule
- Block scheduling may be allowed depending on unit needs
- Orientation includes modules, shadowing, and then independent work by the third shift
Additional Notes
- Navy blue scrubs required
- Travelers may be asked to precept or do charge, depending on comfort level
