Cardiac PCU RN
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Seattle, Washington
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- Every other weekend required
- Floating required to like units
- Unit does not accept first-time travelers
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Washington
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit (2 years of experience)
- PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
- One completed travel assignment
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or Heart&Stroke
- NIHSS
- Experience working with Cardiac patients
- Experience working with Post-Operative Open Heart patients
- Experience working with Vascular patients
- Experience working with Stroke patients
- Experience with surgical telemetry
- Experience with vascular surgery patients, including groin and radial band management
- IV insertion skills
- Experience with care and management of invasive lines
- Experience with chest tube setup and care
- Experience with sternal precautions
- Experience with Epic
Preferred Qualifications
- VAD experience
- TAVR experience

- Breathing treatments
- Chest tube set-up/care
- CPAP/BiPap
- Trach care
- Blood/blood products administration
- Cardioversion/defibrillation
- Epicardial pacer management
- LVAD
- Open heart 24–28 hours post-op
- Tele interpretation, dysrhythmia interpretation and management
Work Setting Notes
- Nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4 across the board, with 1:5 possible at midnight
