Dietitian
Overview
- Travel/Contract assignment in Syracuse, New York
- Day shift, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
- 40 hours per week
- Contract length: 26 weeks
- Training lasts 4 weeks on a day shift schedule; shifts may change after training based on staffing needs
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition, Dietetics, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Registered Dietician (RD) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist credential
- New York license in hand
- Diploma
- NPI Medicaid number
- BLS certification from the American Heart Association
- ACLS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- PALS certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- Competency Exam required for all candidates
- Medication Test/Pharmacology Competency Exam required as applicable by profession
- 2 references
- Physical exam within 1 year of start
- Negative TB or Chest X-Ray within 12 months prior to start
- Drug test within 1 year of start
- New York Statewide Central Registry Form
- New York - NYS Criminal Background Check Fingerprint Results
- New York State Medicaid/Enrollment
- NYS OGS - Social Services 424 Form
- NYS OGS – Child Abuse Acknowledgement

Responsibilities
- Perform nutrition screenings and assessments
- Develop and implement individualized Medical Nutrition Therapy plans
- Document nutrition assessments, interventions, and outcomes in the electronic medical record
- Provide nutrition groups, education, and counseling to patients, families, and caregivers
- Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement initiatives
- Participate in multidisciplinary patient care rounds and departmental meetings
- Support staff development initiatives and improved clinical outcomes
- Complete swallowing screens as needed
Additional Notes
- This is an RFQ assignment; placement is not guaranteed
- Compliance documents must be cleared 2 weeks before the start date to begin on time
- Orientation is held every other Thursday
- Inpatient and outpatient services are provided to adult and children’s populations
