Description

Peds/Neo Respiratory Therapist

Role

Peds/Neo Respiratory Therapist
Department: RT
Unit coverage: NICU or PICU
Patient population: Peds and Neonates

Schedule

13-week contract
12-hour day shifts
36 hours per week
Preference scheduling is permitted
6 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
Holidays as scheduled

Required Qualifications

Must have BLS (AHA) Verification
Must have ACLS (AHA) Verification
Must have PALS (AHA) Verification
Must have NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) Verification
Must have 2 or more years of experience working in PICU and/or level 4 or greater NICU

Preferred Qualifications

RRT is preferred

Responsibilities

All aspects of respiratory care
Aerogen, Volara, cough assist, IPV, NAVA, Hamilton and Servo ventilators, airway management, and intrahospital transport
Assist only for intubation

Additional Details

RT will not be the only RT in house
Preferred staffing is 8 RTs per shift
Hospitalist or intensivist is in house
Department-specific orientation is provided, with timing dependent on previous experience
Scrub color: stone/light gray

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
