Description
PACU RN
Overview
- Location: Albany, Georgia
- Schedule: 3 twelve-hour shifts per week, plus call rotation
- Shift pattern: Days and nights rotate monthly
- Call coverage includes 2–3 weeknight call shifts in a four-week schedule and every 4th weekend
- Must be able to arrive in the unit within 30 minutes when called
- Contract length: 17 weeks
Required Qualifications
- ACLS
- PALS
- CPR
- Experience with Hospital Post Anesthesia Recovery, including General, Regional, and Conscious Sedation recovery for all age ranges and patient types
Experience / Clinical Skills
- Drains: Cranial, Spinal, Hemovacs, Chest Tubes
- Airway management including OAW, NAW, OETT, and extubation
- Ventilators, Trach, and OETT care
- Hemodynamic monitoring
- Malignant Hyperthermia
- Post-op pain, nausea, and B/P medications
- Medications used during general anesthesia
- Initiation and maintenance of drips: Heparin, Sedation, and Pressers
- Fundal massages, Post-Partum Hemorrhage management, and common OB complications management
- Bladder irrigation maintenance
- Post-op carotid care including neuro assessments, sheath removal, site monitoring, and A-lines maintenance and removal
Common Surgical Procedures
- Critical Care: Cranis, Thoracotomies, Traumas, ICU holds, Medical/Surgical
- Pediatrics: Tonsils, Adenoids, Ear Tubes, Foreign Body Removal, Hernia Repairs, Dental Restorations
- OB/GYN: C/S, Cerclage, Post-Partum Bleeds, Hysterectomies, Vaginal tacking’s, D&C, Ex Laps
- Cardiac: Carotids, Vascular stents and bypasses, Pace makers, Ablations, AAA, EVAR, TEVAR, Angiograms, Dialysis Grafts
- Ortho/Neuro: Joints, Fractures, Laminectomies, Back and Neck Fusions, Pinnings, Closed/Open reductions, knee and shoulder scopes
- General: Colostomies, Appendectomies, Cholecystectomies, Ex Laps, Whipples
- Urology: Proctectomy, TURPS, ESWL, Cysto, Nephrectomy, Cystectomies
- Plastics: Breast Reeducations / Implants, Abdominal Plasty
- ENT: Parotid, Tongue/Laryngeal Biopsy, Thyroids, Eyes
- PACU Procedures: Cardioversions, TEEs, Blood Patches, Lines and Blocks
Additional Notes
- Strict 75-mile radius rule based on the address on the traveler’s driver’s license
- Driver’s license address must be included in the submission
