OBS 6N/6C - 78 RN
Overview
- Location: Morgantown, West Virginia
- Facility: WVU JW Ruby Memorial Hospital
- Contract length: 13 weeks
- Shift: Nights
- Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 36 hours per week
Unit Details
- Unit: OBS 6N & 6C (Stepdown & Floor)
- Beds: 31 beds across 2 separate units on the same floor
- Patient types: MedSurg, Cardiac, IDDM, COPD, Trauma, Ortho, ENT, Urology, pain
- Telemetry: Unit has telemetry and tele techs; RNs must be able to read and interpret strips
- Drips: Must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown and Heparin gtts on the floor
- Respiratory support: RT is in-house 24/7; no vents on this unit
- Staffing: Charge nurse on each shift; house supervisor in-house 24/7; 3-4 nurse aides for 31 patients
Required Qualifications
- Certifications: BLS and ACLS
- Experience/skills: Must be able to titrate drips in Stepdown and Heparin gtts on the floor
Schedule Requirements
- Weekend requirement: Every other weekend
- Holidays: May be expected to work holidays if needed
Additional Notes
- Unit sees a lot of turning, about 10-12 turns per day
- Scrub color: Royal Blue
