Description

ER RN

Role

ER RN for an ER - Level IV Trauma Center.

Location

Ranson, West Virginia

Contract Length

13 weeks

Required Qualifications

ACLS (AHA)
BLS (AHA)
NIHSS
PALS (AHA)
TNCC
Previous EPIC experience
Must have strong IV skills
COVID vaccination required

Schedule

12-hour day shifts
36 hours per week
Weekend and holiday rotation as scheduled

Unit Details

18-bed ER with capacity to expand to 21 beds
No Fast Track
Approximately 60 patients per day
Ratio: 1:3-4
Charge Nurse 24/7
Monitor tech 24/7
RT in-house 24/7
No IV team
No floating

Patient Population

Typical ER patients include CHF, COPD, DM, and COVID
About 10% pediatric patients
High incidence of heroin overdose
Behavioral health patients during the day

Additional Notes

Traveler must provide own navy blue scrubs
RNs draw their own labs unless phlebotomy is needed for difficult sticks
RNs are responsible for mixing drips after pharmacy hours
Can initiate and titrate all drips except chemo

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
