Description
RN Central Resource Pool
Location
- Sioux Falls, South Dakota
Contract
- 13 weeks
- 36 hours per week
- 12-hour night shifts
Unit / Setting
- 30-bed medical surgical unit and 8-bed progressive care unit
- The unit cares for patients with pneumonia, COPD, CHF, COVID-19, pulmonary embolism, and other complex respiratory and medical-surgical cases
- Clinical care includes oxygen therapy, IV medications, moderate sedation monitoring during bronchoscopies, chest tubes, tracheostomies, postoperative care, non-invasive ventilation, mechanical ventilation, and cardiac monitoring
Required Qualifications
- RN license in South Dakota or a compact state
- BLS
- ACLS
- Experience with BiPAP, CPAP, heated high flow, oxygen titration, moderate sedation, telemetry, and medical-surgical patient care
Preferred Qualifications
- Specialty certification
Schedule
- Every other weekend
- Every other holiday
- Straight nights, rotating shifts, or blocked scheduling may be used
Floating
- Floats to Med-Surg units
- Travelers are the first to be reassigned to another department
Additional Notes
- Must be disclosed in submission if the clinician has ever worked for Sanford Health; if previously employed there, the end date must be at least 6 months before submission
- Badge in and out at the facility
- Scrubs: navy blue
- Epic is used for documentation
- Alaris pumps are used for IV fluids
- Acudose is used for medications
- Orientation includes telemetry and mechanical ventilation competency validation, online modules, self-assessment, and precepted unit time
