Telemetry

Overview

• Travel/contract RN assignment in Middletown, Ohio
• 29-bed CTU focused on cardiology medical care and interventions
• Day shift: 3x12 hours, 7:00–19:30
• 36 or 48 hour contract option

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
• Med Surg / Telemetry (1 year of experience)
• Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
• Ability to pass an online EKG/telemetry competency assessment
• Experience with femoral arterial sheath removals
• Experience with groin management
• Experience with titration of cardiac medication drips
• Experience with Epic
• Current resume/application
• 2 references from within 2 years of start, with 1 from a Manager, Supervisor, or Charge RN
• Skills checklist within 1 year prior to documentation due date and updated annually
• Physical exam within 2 years of start
• Negative 9 or 10 panel drug screen within 12 months prior to documentation due date, including marijuana panel
• Annual health questionnaire
• Candidate agreement

• Government-issued photo ID
• Background check
• EPLS/GSA/SAM
• HHS/OIG
• Respiratory protection medical questionnaire
• RespSafety clearance within 1 year of start
• Work history verification if 2 professional references cannot be obtained

Clinical Focus

• Femoral arterial sheath removals
• Groin management
• Titration of cardiac medication drips
• Common diagnoses include CHF, NSTEMI, cardiac arrhythmias, angina, chest pain rule-outs, blood pressure instability, status post cardiac catheterization, and status post pacemaker insertion

Floating

• First to float at discretion
• May float in and out of the specialty cluster
• May be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to
• May include floating to ED to care for boarders
• If assigned to MVH, floating may include Main Campus, South Campus, and North Campus

Schedule Expectations

• Must be available to work every other weekend and holiday
