PICU Travel/Contract RN
Overview
- Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey
- Employment type: Travel/Contract
- Shift: Night, 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:30
- Hours per week: 36
- Contract length: 13 weeks
Role details
- PICU
- Patient population includes adolescents, infants, and peds
- Unit coverage includes PICU, Pediatric Stepdown, and pediatrics, including intermediate care and med/surg mix
- Ratio: PICU 1:1–2
- Must float within skillset to PICU, NICU, Peds, Stepdown, and Intermediate units
- May also float to PHOC (Pediatric Hematology Oncology Clinic)
Required qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care (2.5 years of experience)
- PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care experience within the last year
- ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- PALS - Pediatric Advanced Life Support issued by American Heart Association
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience with ventilator management
- Experience with CVVH
- Interpretation/management of dysrhythmias
- Experience with Epic
- Must work or provide on-call coverage for 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 winter holidays as needed
Preferred
- NIHSS
Scheduling
- Every other weekend
- First-time travelers are accepted
- Locals are accepted at the same rate
