Labor and Delivery
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Winston Salem, North Carolina
- 13-week assignment
- Night shift: 4x12 hours, 18:45–7:15
- 48 hours per week
- 21 rooms/beds
- Ratios: 1:2
- Travelers will float within Women’s Services
- Every other weekend is required
- No block scheduling guaranteed
- Scrubs provided
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in North Carolina
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (2 years of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Procedure issued by American Heart Association
- EFM - Electronic Fetal Monitoring
- Experience with IV start
- Experience circulating for C-sections
- Experience with labor inductions
- Experience managing multiple drips (Pitocin, magnesium, insulin)
- Experience with preterm labor
- Experience with multiple gestations
- Experience with preeclampsia
- Experience managing postpartum hemorrhage
- Experience with epidurals
- Experience with IUFDs (Intrauterine Fetal Demise)
- Experience with Epic
Unit Details
- 14 weeks and above pregnant are seen in triage
- 20 weeks and above are in L&D
- Resuscitation is offered at 22 weeks and above
- Labor and delivery occur in the same suite
- 3 OR rooms/recovery
- Special procedures include nitrous oxide and amnio infusions
- Special equipment includes epidural pumps, PCAs, Alaris pumps, and fluid warmers
Preferred
- Nitrous oxide
- Amnio infusions
Notes
- RTO after booking is not allowed
- Additional RTO on unit or call-offs could result in cancellation and DNR
- RTO maximum for auto-offer: 7 days
