Open Heart ICU RN

Overview

• Travel/contract ICU RN role in Middletown, Ohio.
• Winter contract option: 13 or 18 weeks.
• Night shift: 4x12 hours, 19:00–7:30.
• Targeted patient ratios: 1:2 for Critical Care and 1:3 for Intermediate level patients.
• Must work at least every other holiday and every other weekend.
• Block scheduling cannot be guaranteed.

Required Qualifications

• Valid RN license in Ohio.
• CVICU experience within the last year.
• 2 years of CVICU experience.
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association.
• Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing.
• Experience caring for CABG patients.
• Experience with transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR).
• Experience with Impella.
• Experience with intra-aortic balloon pump (IABP).
• Experience with CRRT.
• Ability to read and interpret EKG strips.
• Experience with ventilator management.
• IV insertion skills.
• Experience with neuro monitoring.
• Experience with conscious or moderate sedation.
• Experience with Epic.

Floating / Assignment Scope

• Traveler will be first to float at discretion.
• May float in and out of specialty clusters.
• May be assigned a medically appropriate assignment or support the nursing care team of the unit floated to, including high-risk respiratory unit/COVID.
• If assigned to MVH, floating may include main campus (Dayton), south campus (Centerville), and North Campus (Englewood).

Unit / Clinical Setting

• 16-bed ICU unit.
• 310-bed hospital.
• Designated Neuro Unit for ischemic strokes receiving TPA.
• COVID-positive patients.
• CRRT, 24-hour EEG, hypothermia post cardiac arrest, and prone patients.
• Level III Trauma Center.

Additional Notes

• RTO must be requested with initial submittal; no RTO will be added after the offer.
• RTO approval is at manager discretion.
