MS/Tele

Overview

  • Travel/Contract RN role in Dayton, Ohio
  • 13-week assignment
  • Night shift: 3x12 hours, 19:00–7:00
  • Targeted patient ratio: 1:5–6
  • Unit: Advanced Care, a 43-bed mixed acuity unit with a concentration on post-general surgery patients and stable cardiac telemetry patients

Required Qualifications

  • Valid RN license in Ohio
  • Med Surg / Telemetry (1.5 years of experience)
  • Med Surg / Telemetry experience within the last year
  • ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • BLS - Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association
  • Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Pass an online EKG tele competency assessment before starting the assignment
  • Experience with titratable insulin drips and titratable cardiac drips including amiodarone, cardizem, cardene
  • Experience with Epic
  • Must be able to read and interpret strips
  • NIH Stroke Certification
  • Must be available to work every other weekend/holiday

Preferred

  • Experience in a level 1 or 2
  • Travel experience

Other Details

  • Nurses may be fitted for N95 prior to working on the unit unless PAPR is offered or needed
  • Traveler will be first to float at discretion; float scope includes specialty clusters, high-risk respiratory unit/COVID, and if assigned to MVH may include main campus, south campus, and North Campus
  • Unit may use team nursing or primary nursing depending on unit needs
  • Navy Blue scrubs
  • RTO must be requested with initial submittal; no RTO added after offer
  • For 48-hour contracts, OT is paid after 48 hours

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
