Cardiac Stress Testing
Overview
- Travel/Contract role in Quincy, Illinois
- Day shift: 5x8s, Monday–Friday
- Call every 3rd weekend, Saturday and Sunday 7a–12p
- 13-week contract
Role Summary
Specialized unit caring for patients undergoing heart function test and diagnostic procedures, including inpatient and outpatient testing and procedures.
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in Illinois
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Cardiology experience within the last year
- 1 year of cardiology experience
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NIHSS
Responsibilities
- Explain equipment needed, indications/contraindications, patient prep/education, process, and staff roles for cardiology procedures
- Set up, monitor, and perform tests and procedures as appropriate
- Perform medicated and non-medicated stress testing
- Perform tilt table testing
- Monitor patients undergoing moderate sedation
- Perform ECG testing
- Place ambulatory monitors, including Holter and event monitors
- Recognize and notify physician/LIP of abnormal or life-threatening ECG tracings, vital signs, or patient situations during testing
- Assist in outreach opportunities as needed
Additional Notes
- Call is every 3rd weekend
- The role includes both inpatient and outpatient testing and procedures
