Labor and Delivery
Overview
- Travel/Contract RN role in Labor and Delivery
- Day shift: 3x12s, 7:00 AM–7:30 PM
- Every other weekend required
- 13-week contract
- 1:2 ratio
- First-timers accepted
- Local candidates accepted
Unit Details
- Labor & Delivery unit with 7 rooms
- Average daily census: approximately 3–4 patients
Required Qualifications
- Valid RN license in New Jersey
- Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
- Labor and Delivery (1 year of experience)
- Labor and Delivery experience within the last year
- BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- ACLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
- NRP
- Experience working with High Risk Labor and Delivery patients
- Experience working with Neonate patients
- Ability to scrub in surgical procedures
- Ability to interpret fetal heart rate strips
- Experience circulating for C-sections
- Experience with high-risk deliveries
- Experience with vaginal delivery
- Experience with cesarean section
- Experience with neonatal resuscitation
- Experience with fundus, lochia and perineum care
Preferred Qualifications
- AWHONN Intermediate
- Previous charge experience
- Teaching hospital experience
Float Scope
- May float to Mother/Baby
- May serve as the baby catcher
- May support the nursery
Schedule / Time Off / Call
- Up to 2 pre-approved time-off requests permitted per contract
- No on-call requirement
- One summer holiday, one winter eve, and one winter night will be assigned based on need
