Description

Med Surg Registered Nurse (RN) (Nights)

Overview

Temp assignment in Cedar Rapids, Iowa
13-week contract
Nights, 12 hours per day
46-bed unit
Patient types: Med Surg and all surgical cases except ortho and spine
Patient ratios: 1:4/5 on days; 1:5/6 on nights
Scrubs: Black or Blue
Traveler will float across Med Surg units throughout the hospital

Required Qualifications

Valid RN license in Iowa
PCU - Progressive Care Unit (1 year of experience)
PCU - Progressive Care Unit experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association or American Red Cross
Associate of Science in Nursing / Associate Degree in Nursing
Driver's License
Experience with titratable drips: amiodarone, diltiazem, heparin, dobutamine, milrinone
Equipment experience with chest tubes, JP drain, 3-way foley, NG tube
Med Surg experience
Experience with Epic

Preferred

Professional reference/reference check from within 24 months of today’s date

Additional Notes

First-time travelers are welcome
Unless the unit is closed, the contractor is required to work 1–2 of the 3 upcoming summer holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
