Histology Tech

Overview

Travel/Contract role in Patchogue, New York
13-week assignment
Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM
No weekends

Role Summary

Travel Histology Technologist on the Laboratory team
Performs slide-based histological testing, tissue preparation, staining, and quality assurance procedures
Works under the supervision of the Laboratory Supervisor

Required Qualifications

Valid Histology Technologist license in New York
Histology Technologist (2 years of experience)
Histology Technologist experience within the last year
BLS issued by American Heart Association

Responsibilities

Prepare the grossing area and gross biopsy specimens
Embed, section, and stain tissue specimens for histological examination
Prepare tissue specimens for routine and specialized histological procedures
Perform routine staining techniques and assist with special staining procedures as needed
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot histology laboratory equipment and instruments
Perform quality assurance activities related to histological testing and procedures
Maintain laboratory documentation and records in compliance with NYSDOH regulations
Adhere to established laboratory policies, safety standards, and approved protocols

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
