Hospice RN

Role Overview

Hospice RN for McClure Miller Respite House
12-hour nights: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday
Assignment length: 16-26 weeks

Required Qualifications

AHA BLS
3 years of prior hospice experience
Excellent typing skills
EPIC experience within the past 2 years

Clinical Experience

Hospice / End of Life care
Complex symptom management and education
Symptom assessment and management with high-level critical thinking
Comfort initiating and participating in goals of care discussions and planning with patients, family, and team
Medication management and administration via IV, subcutaneous, oral, sublingual, rectal, and other routes

Additional Notes

Narrative-heavy EMR
No block schedules
Bi-weekly orientations on Monday
All employment gaps over 90 days must be explained
Public transportation is not accessible; reliable transportation is strongly recommended
All-season or snow tires are strongly recommended from November through April

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
