Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Telemetry)

Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Unit: 3 North Shift: 12-hour day shift, every other weekend Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly (36 hours/week), not including on-call time

Assignment Details

• Cares for a wide variety of surgical patients with an overflow of medical patients.
• May float between all Med-Surg Telemetry units as needed.
• This unit does not have telemetry techs. RNs must ready and interpret their own telemetry strips.

Required Qualifications

• Equivalent to a graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Recent acute Medical-Surgical nursing experience with telemetry, 2+ years required.
• Current Registered Nurse license from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing, required at time of submission.
• CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Must have been separated from the health system for 6+ months and be in good standing to be considered.
• Organization coversheet required at time of submission.
• Flu vaccination required. Only medical exemptions are accepted.

Onboarding Testing

• Must pass a pass/fail ECG/telemetry test and a medications test before acceptance. Both are administered via Zoom.
• Dysrhythmia (20 questions) and medication (20 questions) tests must be completed within 48 hours of confirmation.
• Passing score is 85%. There is one attempt only, with no remediation or re-sit.
• A study guide provided by the client includes tips and answers.
