Registered Nurse – Medical-Surgical (Telemetry)

Contract Length: 13 weeks Employment Type: Travel Location: Not specified Unit: 2 East Unit Shift: 12-hour shift. The shift field lists day, but the additional details reference a night shift every other weekend. Hours: 36 hours per week Guaranteed Hours: 72 hours biweekly on all assignments. Guaranteed hours do not include on-call time.

Role Details

• Cares for a wide variety of surgical patients with an overflow of medical patients.
• Will be floated between all MS Tele units as needed.
• The unit does not have tele techs. RNs are required to read and interpret their own telemetry strips.

Required Qualifications

• Education: Equivalent to a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
• Experience: Recent acute Medical-Surgical nursing experience with telemetry, 2+ years
• License: Current Massachusetts RN licensure from the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Nursing, required at time of submission
• Certifications: CPR and ACLS
• Immunization: Flu vaccine required. Only medical exemptions are accepted.
• Employment History: Must have been separated from the health system for 6+ months and in good standing to be considered

Pre-Acceptance Testing

• Pass/fail ECG/telemetry test and medications test, each with 20 questions, administered remotely prior to acceptance
• Must test within 48 hours of confirmation
• 85% passing score
• One attempt only, with no remediation or re-sit
• A study guide provided by the client is available
