Location: Richmond, Virginia Employment Type: Travel Contract Length: 13 weeks Hours per Week: 36

Unit Details

Unit: OR
Operating Rooms: 16
Patient Ratio: 1:1
Staffing: One team of RN, SA, and surgical tech per OR room
Day Shift: 16 RNs, 16 SAs, and 16 surgical techs
Evening Shift: Tapers from 4 teams (3-5 pm) to 2 teams (5-7 pm) to 1 team (7-11 pm). Call starts for 2 additional teams at 3 pm.
Night Shift: Call only
Weekend and Call: Call rotation averages 2 call shifts per week, including weekday night and weekend primary and backup
Equipment: OR equipment for robotics, neurosurgery, general, plastics, urology, and orthopedics
Procedures: All except transplant and cardiac surgery
Floating Areas: None
Dress Code: Hospital-provided scrubs

Required Qualifications

Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in Virginia
2 years of Operating Room (OR) experience
OR experience within the last year
ACLS certification
BLS certification
Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) / Associate Degree in Nursing
Neuro/spine experience, including experience working with neurospine patients
Experience with robotic surgery
Orthopedics experience

Pros

Marigold is polite and professional. She goes above and beyond to ensure the contractor is well informed and has everything needed to be successful. She helped me with onboarding and getting used to the timesheet app and she answers my texts promptly, even after hours. She is a great recruiter liason. Gladys was a super helpful with onboarding and Denise will hook you up with benefits with no trouble at all. Great team to work with.

Cons

Onboarding is somewhat tedious, but they do dot every "i" and cross every T.
