Qualifications:
- RN license
- School experience recommended but not required.
The School RN position involves providing dedicated care to a School district. The role focuses on essential nursing tasks such as g-tube feeding, monitoring for signs of seizure activity, and mobility assistance, ensuring the student's health and safety during transportation. The
Job Details:
- Schedule:full time
- Dates:8/25/26-5/21/27
- Monday-Friday; Anywhere from 7.5 hours - 8,5 hours per day. Weekly could reach up to 42.5 hours/week
- Caseload: You would cover locations as needed and could possibly care for 1:1 needs, which would include riding the bus if needed.
- In-person
- They are trained to provide care for all students, including students who have a 1:1 nurse. This care includes g-tube, trach suctioning/care, oral suctioning, ventilator management, ostomy care, straight cath, seizure management.
- Float nurses are also trained to provide care and management in all school nurse clinics. This includes medication management, chronic condition management, urgent first aid care, assessing for illness, following individualized plans of care for student health, following emergency medication management protocols, and conducting health screenings.
- Float nurses will document all care provided in the district’s student information management system.
